EVERY ACT OF CREATIVE INITIATIVE WITHIN OUR TANGO COMMUNITY WINS YOU KARMA POINTS
The more karma points you get, the greater your chance to win prizes in our "BEE THE TANGO" RAFFLE!
THE PRIZES
Raffle prizes are sweet, hot, and bee-friendly:
> 1 pound of Honey Pacifica flavored honey! They are a local farm that takes great care of their bees and do it totally without pesticides! Their honey is carried at local farmers' markets and comes in amazing flavors such as creamy mango and habanero!
> A "Bee Aware" Tote Bag!
> A Honeybee Conservancy Coffee Mug!
> DVD of N is a Number: a documentary about famous collaborator Paul Erdos, the Hungarian mathematician
> The first ever, limited edition, Tango Mar Vista cult tee shirt! (A work in progress...)
> Other stuff we find while we are in Oregon! :)
HOW YOU GET KARMA
Report your tango-karma-enhancing acts to the TMV Co-Creativity Box, tangomarvista [at] gmail [dot] com, and include the number of points you think you should get. Points will be assessed and awarded by judges Mitra and Stefan.
Here are some examples of creative pollination that create tango karma!
- Initiate a practice with someone new - an Erdos Practice - 2 points
- Create/host a practica - at your home or elsewhere - 2 points
- Bring a friend to a Tango class - 1 point
- Design a Tango tee shirt - 2 points
- Or other Tango swag! - 1 point
- Create a new event that involves Tango/practicing/bringing people together - 3 points
- Recruit Devendra Banhart to Tango - 1000 points
- Coordinate other DJs and organize a shipment from Zival's - 3 points
- Break the ice and DJ for your first time ever - 2 points
- Make a Tango video - 2 points
- Design a flyer - 2 points
- Initiate a music swap session - 2 points
- Start a Tango blog - 2 points
- Co-create Oxygen in any way you feel inspired - 1-2 points
- Offer free hugs at Oxygen - 5 points per hour
- Organize a masseuse for Oxygen - 2 points
- Become an May Intern at TMV - 10-100 points
- Create or donate fun prizes for the "BEE THE TANGO" Raffle! - 2 points
- Buddy up with a beginner who looks lost and help them out - 2 points
- Take a class with a new teacher - 2 points
- Get objective feedback on your dancing and listen openly without judgment - 4 point
- Translate Tango lyrics and publish your version online - 3 points
- Create a project to improve Tango Mar Vista's space - 1-3 points
- Tell someone what you like about their dancing - 1 point
- Distribute flyers for a Tango class or teacher you care about at a milonga - 3 points
- Adopt a local cafe bulletin board and make sure it is always ripe with flyers for Tango - 2 points
- Etc.!
TANGO KARMA POINTS will be awarded up through midnight on May 31st. Remember, email tangomarvista [at] gmail [dot] com with your story and the number of points you feel you've earned! Our panel of judges will make final assessments and let you know.
The "BEE THE TANGO" RAFFLE Drawing will take place at the eXtreme aXis Practica on Thursday, June 4th.

Bees are beautiful and magical creatures.
They pollinate the flowering plants that provide a quarter of humans' food.
They make amazing things like honey, and bee pollen for your blended smoothie.
Whenever they return to the hive, they do a special dance.
