Glow :: Glow is that magical energy that rushes through us like hot lightning when we dance. It may appear in a momentary gust of light, or it may seep up from the hard, worn wood floor and envelope us, making the musical visceral, tangible. Glow is a highly individual personal sensation shared mutually between two dancers. Glow is by definition a shared experience — a unity of bliss.

whump-ah(-whum) :: A WHUMP-AH is often known as a "quick-quick" outside TMV. it indicates a step followed by a syncopated follup motion. The often-associated WHUM is the "slow" in "quick-quick-slow." Common examples of this pattern arise in the Ocho-cortado and during many changes of direction, as well as when executing boleos or other accented movements.

N.B.U. :: Stands for "Nobody But Us." Grammatically, this construction functions as an adjective. It is often injected with a verb to describe what exactly nobody but us is doing—for example, Nobody Comes But Us, the name of our practica. It was first termed in this way due to the ritualisticly low turnout to our late night and not-publicized practice event. The definition of "Us" is an interested specimen in it's own right, as the "Us" is both a fixed entity and an ever-changing conglomorate depending on the particular situation and previous attendance history. Finally, "NBU" can function as a TMV-specific Trademark. In fact, any reference to the ™ logo should be read as superscripted "NBU".
