PREREQUISITES

  1. Tango Induction Opportunity with Global Tango Mar Vista, AND
  2. 5 Tango classes outside the realm of Global Tango Mar Vista

THE PROGRAM

Global Tango Mar Vista works toward creating community via Tango. We believe a serious approach commitment to refining one’s Tango practice has broader implications in interpersonal awareness and harmony. Our program is geared toward making students confident and sensitive social dancers of Argentine Tango. In our program we emphasize personal attention and nonjudgmental communication. www.tangomarvista.org

THE OFFERING

  1. 15 1-hour long intermediate Tango vocabulary classes on Thursdays with Stefan and Mitra
  2. 15 1-hour long Tango technique torture drills on Tuesdays (optional) with Stefan
  3. 1 1-hour long One Times One coaching session (private lesson) with Stefan or Mitra
  4. Opportunities to mentor members of the fall Tango Induction Classes.

TIMES, DATES, LOCATIONS, LIMITATIONS

  1. Classes will begin the week of August 4th and continue through the week of December 1st
  2. All classes will be held 9-10pm
  3. There will be some interim holiday hiatus, e.g., Thanksgiving
  4. Location is TBD but will be on West Side of Los Angeles: near, in, or adjacent to Mar Vista.
  5. The size of the Tango Continuation Unit is limited to 16:  8 followers and 8 leaders

COST

  1. Complete Unadulterated Program (with weekly technique drills): $450
  2. Once-A-Week Program (only Thursday night intermediate class): $310

DEADLINE

A monetary deposit of $200 must be presented to Global Tango Mar Vista to secure your spot in the program by July 15th, including a list of the five classes you have taken outside the GTMV Induction Opportunity Program. Please post to The Center, 12759 Caswell Ave., Los Angeles, CA, 90066.

EQUIPMENT

All participants must have Tango-centric footwear in the form of Tango shoes or dance sneakers. Please consult Instructors if you have any doubts or questions.

N.B.: This is the only Serious Tango Practitioner Continuation Unit that will be offered in the foreseeable future.
